The 200 Club movement began over 50 years ago when a young officer in Detroit, Michigan was fatally shot in the line of duty. One man, moved by this tragic event, wrote to 200 of his friends, asking them to donate to a fund for the officer’s wife and child. He received a 100% response and used the donated funds to help the widow meet most of her and her child’s immediate and future financial needs.
